So that title might have confused you at first. I mean if you think about it, it’s really not that hard to read, right?
All you have to do is put some letters together, and once you’ve done that, they carry a certain meaning.
I think most people learned how to read pretty early on in life, but I guess there might be some people who aren’t able to read even as an adult.
Luckily, those aren’t the people I am talking to today.
The people I am talking to today are people who read books, who I think might understand what I am talking about today.
So what I mean by saying reading is hard , is that sitting down to read a book and focusing all of your attention on the book is quite difficult, not the actual mental capability to put letters together.
It’s pretty easy to sit in front of a tv or computer screen and watch some show. You get to see what each character looks like. You get to see what each scene looks like. You get to SEE everything.
When it comes to reading, everything is in your hands, or your brain more specifically. You read the words, and then you have to imagine the characters faces. You have to imaging the scenery, the clothing, the entire story.
There’s no recap at the beginning of every chapter or at the start of every book. Yeah, there might be a little backtracking of events if something happened a few books ago, but if you don’t remember what happened to a certain character, you have to hope you can find the right page, or look it up online.
That’s really why reading is so hard, but just because it’s hard, doesn’t mean it’s not enjoyable and relaxing.
There’s nothing better, in my opinion, than reading a good book.
Yeah watching some Netflix or YouTube can be fun, and I enjoy doing that too, but theres nothing quite like reading.
As I was writing this, I think the biggest reason I enjoy reading so much is because it’s something I create so to speak. I mold the world in the way I interpret the words. For tv, the world is already molded for me.
I hope you enjoyed this post, I enjoyed writing it. What do you think of what I had to say? Let me know in the comments.
